Majestic mountains are my legacy!
They rise triumphant to the east, and call
Me from the valley floor, reminding me
There comes a time to leave this urban sprawl.
Secluded valleys, sleepy and secure
Are laced with creek and stream, where sunlight sifts
Through canopies of aspen, pine and fir.
High on her wind-swept peak, vermillion cliffs
Burn rubescent as the setting sun
Brings cool night air. Devoid of man-made light,
The sky soon teems with twinkling stars; and none
Could help but glory in the beauty of the night.
……. Whenever life becomes too much to bear,
……. I find relief in soothing mountain air!
