A Sad Little Fantasy

I want to leave this life I know behind me,
but not for Hell or Heaven found by dying!
A fantasy is where I’d like to find me!

Inspired with awe, I would be always sighing,
no longer venting stress from life’s frustration,
forgetting, though, to breathe as I am flying!

For I would soar in flights of exultation,
unbound from grief, not plagued by lust nor frightened,
my consciousness in constant celebration!

In every moment I’d be more enlightened
as truth profound made cynicism groundless
while sense of everything that’s good was heightened!

I want a life where happiness is boundless
with sad recall of this one rendered soundless!
