Here in Los Angeles
sudden shower storms
arrive as an unexpected lover,
dash about in a flurry
and then leave
as quickly as they came.
Through a rain washed window
the dress rehearsal
unfolds as an oasis
in a drying desert
while rolling foothills race,
cascading downwards;
grassy knolls sprout up
hugging the earth
in gratitude.
Green sleeves stretch over
an altered landscape
and damp dewdrops
act as the pearl necklace
that tops off the cleavage
of the entire ensemble.
