You made me feel so beautiful tonight.
I wonder if the sea felt much like me
as silver stars caressed her swells with light,
pale moonbeams kissed her waves adoringly.
You filled my soul with merriment again.
I wonder if the starling felt like me
as sunlight warmed her dappled feathers, then
she nestled high up in the maple tree.
You mend my broken heart with cheerful song.
I wonder if the terns along the shore,
with rushing in and out of tides daylong,
are filled with joy to hear the ocean’s roar.
The splendor they behold is a delight
because the world is beautiful tonight.
