Finding Peace

spring-in-the-air

The hands of clocks are spinning round
the face of time so fast,
while all the walls come crumbling down
like rubble from the past.
Then standing in the silence
while the die are slowly cast …
I can only breathe the moment
which never seems to last.

Quiet down – my beating heart
find the peace within –
While balanced on the precipice
of now and where I’ve been

The stars above go circling round,
the world’s at God’s commands,
while all the seas are shoreline bound
and reaching for the sands ~
Then standing in the silence
as time slips through my hands,
I can only breathe the moment —
not anticipate His plans.

Quiet down – my beating heart
find the peace within –
while balanced on the precipice
of now and where I’ve been.

The path ahead still winds around
the valley’s far below,
and way down there I see the ground
that once I came to know;
Then standing in the silence
of this sacred ground —  I flow …
and can only breathe the moment
and enjoy the calming glow …

Quiet down – my beating heart
find the peace within –
while balanced on the precipice
of now and where I’ve been.
