I mean no harm, truly.
But trees are cut down,
shredded, so I may buy toilet paper.
When I discard the plastic wrapper,
it may end leaching poisons into the earth
or part of the vast swirling mass of plastic in the sea.
That wrapper polluted the air when extracted
from oil, the oil polluted the water when it was fracked,
and the whole house of cards will tumble
one day, because, meaning no harm,
I didn’t look for any.
