Every movement a stumble
and on we bumble,
towards goals unseen
and unwished for
Moving the goalposts,
frequently, furtively
editing our resumes
More snakes than ladders
in our game of life
Entrepreneurs, our new
21st century gurus
light the way with knowing smiles:
‘Work smart not hard’ they say
and how it smarts to never learn it
Health, wealth
your full potential
All yours through right thinking
but we are the slow ones
born under a bad sign
A sign that ever repeats:
‘Must try harder’
