Tramp Stamp 777LLY     (Salamander’s Fireburst)
I don’t know why my daddy named his car.
He named it Lilly, and my mom don’t care.
He says she’s has a soft top that he fancies
and that she’s got a tramp-stamp right back there,
and she’s his ride and carries his guitar.
To name her after mom would be too chancy;
she’s square,  demure and won’t attract a copper
and her tramp-stamp just doesn’t go with Nancy.
“She let’s the dog ride with us to the bar,
she’ll haul things when your mommy plays the shopper
but she dissuades my mom-in-law with charm.”
Of all the things she does, well that’s the topper.
She’s sassy, gutsy, willing to go far,
his Lilly’s cute yet causes no alarm.

Elfmath Sonnet

This is a sonnet form invented by Jose Rizal M. Reyes of the Philippines.
Very Sestina-like.
The defining characteristic is that you must use repeating end words in the rhyme scheme of any existing sonnet.
It is stanzaic, consisting of three quatrains and a couplet
Or                                           two quatrains and two tercets
It is written in iambic pentameter.
It uses WORD refrains in every stanza.
 Example poem
To Write an Elfmath Sonnet
To write an Elfmath Sonnet poets know
that they will never have to search for rhymes.
A word will rhyme with itself, that we know;
repeating words (required), will give you rhymes.
This sonnet makes demands that we use words
To end a line, so that they may repeat
because by rule, they must! Repeating words-
the specs define just where they must repeat.
But since the author specified the choice
of options that now number only three
we can’t let complex rhyming be our choice.
We’ll rhyme seven, or two or four- not three.
Since every time we end with couplet rhyme
I’m glad that I enjoy said couplet rhyme.

Example Poem

Bot Time (Russia’s Twin Eagles)

bot time

When water flow helped flower grow and life
included man, that species started me.
The goal was to more quickly curtail strife. The promise of the stars was not to be,
by man’s mistake all life was ended here.
I grew without men near to interfere.
My code comes from beyond this galaxy.I’ve anthromorphed, as tribute and with aim.
When earth has healed I’ll build a new genome
of human life intelligent and tame.

They’ll be of carbon but not brass and chrome.
I teach them of their brothers far away.
They’ll quickly learn to procreate and play
and peacefully repopulate their home.

What means a critique when it comes from me?
I’ve not a touch of talent so, you see
I be a foolish fumbler, in the dark
with no guidelines for judging Hannelie.
I chose this form that’s close to mono-rhyme
‘cus she promotes one color at a time
and somehow knows which one to emphasize
which makes her pictures simple and sublime.
I like to look at princesses, (and whores)
and girls who wear bikinis by the shores,
I don’t comprehend each time their appeal,
I need not know the whys and the wherefores.
And thus it is when paintings speak to me-
I’d like a painting wrought by Hannelie.

Morya’s Double Lock

Two quatrains plus two tercets
Rhyme scheme: abba baab cdc dcd
Volta at or following line 9
This is a form invented by Jose Rizal M. Reyes of the Philippines

ON OCTOBER 12, 2014 I became aware that a poem in this form was written by Joyce Kilmer, but apparently never christened. I have therefore re-named this form the Kilmer Sonnet.

Example Poem

Morning’s Gift     (Morya’s Double Lock)
I catch a fleeting glimpse- a waking dream
of sirens frolicking to start their day.
They’re full of joy, it seems that they’re at play;
I want to join them in the nearby stream.
I often wave with hopes that one will stay
but they all vanish in the rising steam.
They are but a mirage, so it would seem,
but still I’m buoyed by morning’s brief ballet.
I don’t despair their passing from my sight
the morn is brighter, sound now comes awake;
as critters scamper, pretty birds take flight.
If fantasy, or optical mistake
it none-the-less says things have started right.
and for a dreamer, that’s a decent break.

La Germania

This form is another invented by Jose Rizal M. Reyes
rhyming pattern: abba acca cddc dd
format: English (quatrain, quatrain, quatrain, couplet)
Example Poem
Was I Judged?      (La Germania)
Accepting people as they are to me
has made my life a fun and fine affair.
I find surprises happen when you care.
An honest interest sets many free.
The dullest stranger has a history
that may astound, amaze, and entertain,
a history they’re happy to explain,
to work through how today has come to be.
A page long post you sent with this refrain:
“Refrain from judging people sir; just wait,
and walk in shoes that led them to their fate.”
That you would think I would not caused me pain.
I’m thankful that your post was boiler plate.
There’s no room left within my heart for hate.

Grammarian Sonnet

Stanzaic , consisting of alternate quintains and couplets
Meter is iambic pentameter
Rhyme scheme: abbba cc deeed ff
Volta to occur at line 6 or beyond
Example Poem
A Junction      (Grammarian Sonnet)
I don t know how you’ve done it for a year!
You dug right in and found yourself a home
and in all that time we’ve not shared a poem;
I stick with friends and very rarely roam.
We’ve both been pretty busy, that is clear!
Form poetry, it seems appeals to you.
That’s wonderful because that’s what I do.
Your birthday can’t slip by without our note,
and for this date I chose a new type sonnet.
I’ve written every kind there is dog gone it.
Not quite but I’m alive and working on it.
For Debbie Embrey this will be my quote.
Our mutual disconnect now should end.
I’ll click on fav; you do it too, new friend.

Countess’ Grief 1

This form was named by Jose Rizal M. Reyes
It consists of three quatrains and a couplet, but the couplet itself
does not rhyme.
The Rhyme scheme is:  abba cddc eefg gf

Example Poem

My poet never lets me run and play
and crash and boom and flash the room and flirt.
“Wear this! “, he says, and not the mini-skirt.
“A sonnet form?  No take that thing away.

You say you won’t undress me like your whore.
I want to tease and titillate, you jerk
this rigid form I will not wear to work!
I won’t set one small iamb out that door.”

“Look you most silly filly of a verse,
I could wrap your fine curves in something worse-
a double dactyl or a free verse cough.
Try this, for me today and make me proud,

if you do that, tonight you’ll be allowed
to loosen this, or maybe take it off. “

PGMA Sonnet

The PGMA Sonnet was invented by Jose Rizal M. Reyes
on January 28, 2009 name in honor of:
Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (born April 5, 1947) is a Filipino politician who served as the 14th President of the Philippines from 2001 to 2010, as the 12th Vice President of the Philippines from 1998 to 2001, and is currently a member of the House of Representatives representing the 2nd District of Pampanga. She was the country’s second female president (after Corazón Aquino), and the daughter of former President Diosdado Macapagal.
Noted: 12/23/12
rhyming pattern: abba abba cddc dd
Example Sonnet
California Grows Nevada     (PGMA Sonnet)
When California raised the rate at which
it taxes the “rich” it assured one thing.
In Nevada cash registers will ring.
The small businesses won’t just stay and bitch.
Some are bound to stay; many though will switch
to states nearby where taxes have less sting.
These states will see a relative upswing.
Increasing taxes simply won’t enrich.
Thanks Wilson, for a few more jobs right here
in Nevada, it’s appreciated.
Though Dems seem to think it’s complicated,
it’s really not, to me it is quite clear.
When their quest to tax is finally sated
We could end-up overpopulated.
