I am Mary Boren, lover of nature, student of metaphysics, occasional writer, webweaver, and semi-retired tinkerer, living with a frisky old man and a busy little dog in a tiny house surrounded by trees, birds, squirrels, deer, and peacocks on a half acre of heaven. Poetry has been my passion for 25 years, and it is my privilege to be an originator, curator, and administrator for Poets Collective.
Meter is my forte and most of my poems are short, with topics relating in some way to the “spiritual being having a human experience” phenomenon. I will be bringing some of them here from other venues. I have imported a few entries from a blog in which I began to write about the minimalist lifestyle, and I also plan to include some vintage family photo galleries.
My maiden name is Upchurch. I include Sullivan sometimes because I wrote poetry under that name until my remarriage in 2006, and Fred Sullivan is remembered fondly for his kindness. I had another name before that, but I don’t expect anyone to come looking for it.
