Eric is a retired electrician living in south-central British Columbia, in a tiny rural community after leaving the slightly more hectic urban apartment life. A quaint, older house, large workshop/garage, several fruit trees, all on two city lots, keep him active with countless projects.
It seems he was always writing – long letters to friends (prior to emails), advertising, newspaper articles and travelogs. Following a trip to Hong Kong, poetry became a hobby and still receives its share of devotion. “Merlin”, an adaptation of the real name, became the moniker of choice.
Two grandsons and one granddaughter spend a portion of their summers in the country, and with the recent acquisition of a larger fishing boat, they’re all looking forward to spending more time in the vast BC outdoors.
Eric clearly draws from a deep well of life experience and poetic expertise, employing a variety of forms and tools in his writing.
