Octet Poetry Form

• Octet is an invented form introduced by Dr. Laura Andersson. It is simply a diminishing octave.

• The Octet is:
○ an octastich, a poem in 8 lines.
○ syllabic, 8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 syllables per line.
○ unrhymed.
○ variable and can be written as a mirror or can be reversed.
