Susan lives in southwestern Ohio with her husband and three cats on five rolling acres bordered by farmland, forests and pastures. Her father and husband both had Air Force careers, which gave her 42 years of travel opportunities and residences in Turkey, Japan, and all over the U.S. Now retired and in the same home since 1985, she still has not lost that desire to explore. With two daughters and three grandchildren and a great grand daughter on the east coast, she is especially thankful for the time and freedom to head that direction when the spirit moves. She credits her ongoing interest in poetry to online friends who encouraged her to continue beyond the need for healing that prompted her first poem in 2002, which literally came to her the night her mother died unexpectedly. The sonnet is her forte, and she enjoys exploring various other rhymed and metered forms, with an occasional foray into the world of free verse.
